Information available without TOPS ONE credentials

If TOPS [ONE] credentials are not provided, the TOPS [ONE] Merge Code Manager displays the static list of available Merge Codes in the TOPS [ONE] application, to be used in Form Letter and other notices.

Information available with TOPS [ONE] credentials

If you choose to enter your TOPS [ONE] credentials, the TOPS [ONE] Merge Code Manager will verify these credentials using TOPS Software’s secure authorization service. The purpose of this call to the authorization service is to retrieve the Custom Merge Code Fields associated with these credentials. Once the credentials are verified, the static list of Merge Codes will be appended with the listing of available Custom Fields from the instance of TOPS [ONE] associated with these credentials.

In other words: These credentials are never stored, and using credentials does not log you into TOPS [ONE]. They simply allow the TOPS [ONE] Merge Code Manager to get a listing of your Custom Merge Code Fields from within TOPS [ONE].
