Welcome to the inaugural post of our newest blog series, Q&A. That stands for questions and answers; not to be confused with QA, which stands for Quality Assurance. (They get real upset when we call 'em Q&A, not that I would know that firsthand or anything!)
I am Andrea Drennen, the hostess for this new series. I will be your personal researcher. You ask me the questions, and I will do my best to find you the answers you seek. There are two ways you can contact me with your questions. You can leave it in a comment on this post, or you can email it to me directly at andread@topssoft.com. Now please try to keep your questions limited to topics related to TOPS Software. I cannot help you find the answers to life the universe and everything - a girl's got to sleep sometimes you know!
So now that you know who I am and what we're doing here, lets move on to the questions and answers!
- Does Pool Pass work with Windows 7?
- Absolutely! In fact, all of TOPS Professional's modules have been tested and confirmed to work in Windows 7.
- Where can I find sample form letters?
- XX, the sample community that comes with all versions of TOPS contains a number of sample form letters that you can use. To copy these letters to one of your existing communities, use the Form Lettter Manager in the Global module.
- Where can I review my open support tickets and download user manuals?
- The Customer Care Center is your one-stop shop for support tickets (open and closed, to view history and review prior solutions). You can also download all of our user manuals and even make online purchases for add-ons and services, such as additional training sessions.
We allow one login per Client ID, so check with the primary account contact at your organization to get the login info, or if you do not already have a login set up for your company, click on the Register link on the login page.
- How do I activate Phone Messenger?
- The first thing you'll need to do is set up Users and Passwords if you aren't using them already. This is necessary to define the different users so you can assign messages to them. You'll find Users and Passwords under Administration. Set up your groups (which categorize your users), Users (the actual people who will be using Phone Messenger), and assign users to your communities.
Once you have that set up, you can go to File, Phone Messenger (or press F8) to access Phone Messenger.
You can start using it right away with the default settings, or if you want to customize your settings, go to View > My Settings and Preferences. This is like a profile for each individual user so you can set how you want the phone messenger to behave for you, even so far as changing the columns that show in the grid, or changing the colors of the messages!
- Where can I find the 2011 Federal Payroll Tax Rates?
So that's it for today's questions. Thanks for taking the time to read. Please feel free to leave your questions in the comments and I'll do my best to get you answers in the next installment. Until next time!

Re: Q&A: Your Questions Answered
In the CC&R Module, under the Batch Close feature, when you double click on a record, can TOPS make the "CC&R Record Information" Screen also reflect any notes already on that record for that specific owner? By Victoria on

Great idea Victoria! This one isn't currently in TOPS Pro, but I will put it in our suggestions database for consideration. By TOPS Software on
