Chicago User Group Report
I am sitting on the tarmac in Chicago during a near blizzard trying
to get back to sunny Florida after our first User Group of the year,
which was held on March 1st. Unfortunately, some folks from Minneapolis
and Milwaukee could not make it due to the snow storms. But despite
the weather, we had upwards of 63 people who were able to attend.
Because of the reduction in the number of attendees, it was a cozy
atmosphere with all of our attendees getting to know each other
and our presenters. A great time was had by all!
The event was held at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Chicago. It was
a first class venue, and the attendees gave high praise to the conference
rooms, and the amazing food! The hotel is currently undergoing a
remodel, and if what we saw was any indication, it is going to be
even more amazing in the future.
Presentations were given by representatives from TOPS Software,
Reserve Advisors, AtHomeNet, AssociationReady, and Community Advantage,
who premiered their new division for management companies, Management
Advantage. As Linda Schiff, President of Community Advantage stated,
"it's not just lockbox any more." How true this
is, Linda!
As part of the TOPS Software presentation, I premiered our latest
enhancement to TOPS v3.2.1™, Unlimited Flex Data, which is
currently in public beta. What a powerful tool this is, with the
unlimited number of customizable fields and the different field
types. To check it out for yourself, go to www.topssoft.com
and register to become a part of the public beta group for this
enhancement.
Dave Black, TOPS corporate trainer was also in attendance to discuss
the multitude of training options available from TOPS Software,
including Internet training through TOPS University. Dave was fortunate
enough to visit several clients on this trip and enjoy their hospitality.
We had two drawing winners: Susan Schwab from Lake Shorewood Estates
won an iPod Nano and Rona Reznick from Summit Property Management
won the TOPS v3.2.1™ module of her choice. Rona deserves additional
kudos as she recently was awarded the PCAM designation from CAI!
We look forward to visiting the Chicago area next year, but next
time we'll schedule our visit when it's a little warmer!
