2006: Setting Records and Meeting Milestones
West Coast Services
In 2006, TOPS Software marked several major Milestones. We opened
a new office in Arizona to serve our west coast customers. Dave
Black joined our team in Arizona as TOPS' Corporate Trainer, and
proceeded to develop TOPS University, a popular monthly Internet
training program that we are even now working to expand into a TOPS
Specialist certification program. Amy Ostwinkle was also brought
in to our Arizona group to provide technical support for the west
coast market.
These moves have already proven to improve the level of timely
service that we are able to provide to our west coast customers,
and we expect to see more improvements in this area in the future.
Record-Breaking Sales
2006 was also a banner year for sales, being the eighth year in
a row our sales have broken previous year sales records. We also
surpassed two major sales milestones with over 2000 installations
of our flagship product, TOPS and over 1000 community web sites.
The sales department also migrated to a web-based customer relationship
management provider, allowing us to service our clients on a completely
mobile, real time basis with functionality not present in our prior
sales software. This internal migration has kept our cost per sale
as low as possible, meaning there is no planned price increase for
any of the TOPS Software programs or services in 2007.
In 2007 we are expanding our internal use of this product to other
departments so that we will be able to provide better integration
of our internal records to provide a more robust level of service
to our clients.
User Feedback
2006 was also a big year for increased user feedback. We held 5
User Group conferences across the country, which were very well
received. In these conferences we were able to show attendees new
products that we have been working on and solicit their feedback
for how we can improve our processes and products. In fact, a number
of new features that were released in TOPS v3.2.1™ in 2006
were developed as a direct result of customer feedback that we received
from these meetings.
We plan to offer several more user group conferences in 2007, the
first of which is planned for March 1st in Chicago. Be sure to read
the article in this same ezine for more information on registering
for this exciting event!
