Report Default Enhancements
In July we released an enhancement to our Report Defaults program for generating
report packages. This means that you can set your default settings for your monthly financials, save them, then use these settings for future report generation. Instead
of having to go into the reporting area of each module, you can just enter the reporting criteria in one place and viola, you have the board
financial package, taking many steps out of the equation.
This can save you time, labor and expense on the
monthly board financial package, and you do not need a file cabinet
as the information is saved where you want it for access at a later
time! Here is a breakown the new fatures:
- Report packages can now be merged into a single PDF document.
This means that instead of a series of individual reports, you
can now have your entire report package available to you in one
single file.
- You may now arrange the order in which your reports are generated
using the new "Report Order" feature. This will apply
not only to the order in which reports print out of the printer,
but also to the order in which they will be combined in a PDF
for email or archival purposes.
- Report packages may be printed, saved, emailed,
or exported to a TOPS Community Web Site.
The idea for this enhancement came from the many user groups held
in 2006 and 2007. We listened, developed, and delivered this truly
time saving function, and we have many more coming down the line.
The enhanced Report Defaults feature is now available for clients
on a support plan to download from our Internet Updater! An automated conversion has been written for the Report Default
settings, so you will not lose any report default packages you
had previously created.
This article is the first in a series written from the perspective of my own experience as a manager and owner. Next
month, I’ll write about our new lockbox enhancements released last month. Having used
the lockbox function for more than sixteen years, I find this enhancement
very exciting.
