Calendar/Scheduler Released in Public Beta

The TOPS Calendar/Scheduler is a free enhancement to TOPS v3.2.1™ that is currently being made available in a public Beta Test. This public beta cycle introduces a new effort on the part of TOPS Software to provide a better mechanism for testing new products by opening them up to all customers in a Beta format prior to official release. The Calendar/Scheduler is slated to stay in the Public Beta cycle until March of 2007 to give customers plenty of time to complete their year-end cycles, as well as to give TOPS time to incorporate any public beta tester feedback into the program before its general release.

The new Calendar/Scheduler is truly a global program, allowing you to keep track of tasks for all of your communities, as well as your company's public and your own private calendar entries. Built-in display filters allow you to show only calendar items that you need at the moment, such as the Next Inspect date for all open CC&R records. You can even print the calendar, and whatever views or display filters that you currently have defined will be reflected exactly in the printed version.

The scheduler has an all new wizard that allows you to easily define scheduled events on the recurring schedule of your choice. You can even schedule preventive maintenance tasks that can later be turned into a Work Order with the click of a button. Reminders may be defined when a user logs in to their computer, or they may be limited to when the user is logged in to TOPS.

This Beta version of the new TOPS Calendar/Scheduler will replace the current version of the TOPS Scheduler, which is currently used for scheduling regular updates, or uploads of data for Internet Services and Plug-Ins. The initial release Calendar/Scheduler for Public Beta does not include any Import/Export or data conversion routines. This means that any existing items you have defined in the current version of the TOPS Scheduler will need to be redefined in the new scheduler. These features will be released to the public beta group as they become available.

Anyone using TOPS v3.2.1™ may sign up to join the public beta, even if they do not have an active Maintenance Support Agreement.

If you wish to sign up for the Public Beta, you must complete the form located at www.topssoft.com/eforms/CalendarBETASignup.htm. Completing the form will enable the Beta for your entire company (based on your TOPS Client ID.) Each user will still need to run the TOPS Internet Updater to receive the program, but only one individual from your company need fill in the form below. Any user testing the program may complete the Beta Test Review Form to give us their individual feedback on the program they are testing
