What's in the Pipeline for TOPS
Over the next few months we will be releasing
more new features to our web sites, TOPS v3.2.1™, and TOPS
On-Site. Here are some of the changes that are in the pipeline for
the coming months:
- New Reports Engine - Currently our top priority,
the new reporting engine is coming along nicely. We have already
released two reports that use our new engine, Balance Sheet and
Income Statement. What's exciting about the new engine is that
we are now able to use variable sized fonts (instead of fixed
width fonts). This makes the report text appear much clearer and
legible. Our programmers continue to work on converting the rest
of the reports, and we expect to release them as they are available
over the remainder of this year.
- Live Updates - Our TOPS Community Web Sites
have an exciting new feature - Live Updates. With this feature,
any TOPS user can make a change to an owner's contact information,
such as phone numbers, names, and addresses, and that information
will be instantly and invisibly uploaded to the Community Web
Site. Currently, Live updates only include owner contact information,
but we expect to release live updates for additional modules in
the coming months.
- Calendar - The calendar is nearing completion,
and should be available for general release within the next two
months. Expect to see many of the same features you would expect
from Outlook®, combined with an integration with TOPS v3.2.1™
that will allow you to run TOPS functions based on your calendar.
- New Scheduler - The new scheduler will replace
the current version, and will be built-in to the calendar program.
This new scheduler will allow you to schedule Job Streaming jobs,
data uploads, and much more, with a wide range of recurrance settings.
This program will be simul-released with the Calendar.
- New Files and Folders Backup - The Internet
Backup Service is undergoing a complete overhaul, with the added
ability to upload Files and Folders, email reports, and much more!
As we have gone through many hurricanes these past 3 years in
the Gulf Coast, backup and storage in a secure area is of paramount
importance. We expect to release the new, improved Internet Backup
Service in June.
- Global AP - The Global AP program is also undergoing
an overhaul, with a new, more user-friendly user interface, and
even more global functionality. This program should be released
in the 3rd quarter of this year.
- New Mobile PDA Interface for Pocket PC - We
are in the process of converting the TOPS Mobile PDA program to
the .Net programming language, with a SQL database back-end. This
change will make compatibility with existing and new Pocket PC
models universal. This new version should be available by 4th
quarter 2006.
- Codename: TOPS Viper - The next major incarnation
of TOPS, codenamed Viper, is under development now. This is a
complete re-working of the TOPS Software, from the ground up!
The final product will not be available until late 2007, but we
will be releasing some parts of it earlier. You will be hearing
more about this exciting project in the months to come.
