Search Engine Optimization – Make it Work for Your Company

Management companies maintain a web site as a way to promote their company, grow their business, and enhance communication. A large part of being successful on the web is the often overlooked power of Search Engine Optimization. Good S.E.O. can exponentially increase your website’s visibility, which could lead to countless financial and brand awareness benefits.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is essentially the single most important factor in getting the popular search engines such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, Excite, etc. to find your web site. This can be especially important for Management Companies who would like to be found quickly when a potential client is searching for you.

What is SEO? Primarily, it involves a series of text, coding, and meta tag additions (and occasionally subtractions) on both the outward appearance of your website and the behind the scenes source code. SEO may include adding unique content to a site, doing a good job on incorporating not only your company name, but key terms involved within your industry or business in the web site. We handle the code related issues, but we do depend on you to provide appropriate text for your site.

A good place to start is to identify critical keywords to your success, and make sure they are prominently placed on your website as many times as possible without being excessive. It is important that on the home page of your web site you list the geographic areas that you serve.

Another key thing you can do is link other related sites to your web site. Search engines “believe” that your site is important based on how many other sites link to you as a source. Therefore, make sure you have contacted your vendors and have asked for a link on their site. Make sure that the communities under management by you have your web site linked to you and not to a web host.
