Spring Cleaning on Your Community Web Site!
Spring is here and that's the perfect time of the
year to get started with fresh content on your web site! Grab a
comfortable seat and get that mouse in your hand as we guide you
through a few procedures and suggestions that are sure to get you
off on the right foot.
- Blank or Broken Links - Use the Menu Change
form under "Admin Only" to submit requests to remove
blank or broken menu links. We can always add the features back
at a later date or place them under "Admin Only" while
you work on them.
- Keep it Fresh! - Remove old Announcements/Events/Documents.
- Picture Placement - Add new spring pictures;
get your digital camera out and get snap happy around the neighborhood!
Solicit help from around the community. For example, post an announcement
or use the Volunteer Needs link to round up some photographers
to contribute their own pictures. You could also allow residents
to upload their photos directly through the new Photo Albums feature!
- Reach Out - Post a Board/Committee article
on the successes & triumphs of the past year and the plans
for this year.
- Calendar - Create event calendar entries of
things happening in your local area for the upcoming months.
- Share Information - Go to http://admin.topswebsites.com
and "Ask Other Administrators" to find out what other
administrators are doing this year. While you're there, be sure
to check your USER PROFILE to ensure your email address is current!
- Communicate With Your Neighbors - Create more
involvement in the web site by posting new message board topics.
- Community Ads - Allow local residents to pitch
their businesses in a featured article, and then post their ad
under Classifieds!
- Picture Perfect - Get rid of that old Photo
Gallery, and migrate your pictures over to the new and exciting
Photo Album feature! Create a Pet Gallery and invite your residents
to participate!
- What's Happening Around the Neighborhood -
Create eForms to prompt residents to submit articles for the Announcements
and Events page, and share their upcoming graduations, college
acceptances, new babies, etc! Create a hyperlink to those forms
using the Feature Description text of those individual pages!
